Hire Information.

The cost of hire is $80 for an 8 week hire period, commencing at your 36 week appointment. That’s when you’ll collect the machine + learn how to use it.

What’s Included in the hire.

  • 1x set of TGA registered TENS pads.

  • 2x AA batteries + a set of spares just incase.

  • 2x Leads + one spare just incase.

  • 1x prepaid postage satchel to return the machine following your birth.

How to use the TENS Machine.

When it comes to using the TENS machine for birth it’s important both you and your birth partner have a handle on the basics before you go into labour. Watch the video below together so you’re both in the know.

MY TOP TENS TIPS.

Don’t wait for things to get intense before applying your TENS machine, put it on in early labour, once things are regular gives your body time to build endorphins in response to the electric pulsations. The more endorphins present the more pain receptors they block.

TENS machines are fairly straightforward to operate, however deciphering the how-to guide in between contractions is NOT what you want to be doing. Ensure both you and your birth support person have had a run through the basics before its GO TIME!

3. Keep the Electrodes.

The Electrodes are very adhesive and can be reapplied during your labour or after! The TENS machine can be used in the days following birth to assist with after birth pains as the uterus contracts down to size.

  • This is a hire arrangement only.

  • Yes absolutely! When you collect your TENS machine at your 36 weeks appointment I will take you through all the important need to knows.

  • Hire is $80 for 8 weeks and includes batteries and TGA approved pads. I also provide spare batteries and leads just incase.

  • No problem — your 8-week hire period is designed to give you plenty of buffer either side of your due date.

  • You can pop it on as soon as you feel your first contractions, I usually say, don’t wait for pain, the earlier the better as it gives your body time to adjust to the signaling.

  • The machine and pads need to stay dry, so please remove the TENS machine and pads prior to getting in the bath or shower. It is possible to reapply after you get out, just ensure you skin is fully dry before applying the pads.
