TOP TIPS

1. Early Application.

Don’t wait for things to get intense before applying your TENS machine, put it on in early labour, once things are regular gives your body time to build endorphins in response to the electric pulsations. The more endorphins present the more pain receptors they block.

2. Know Your Machine.

TENS machines are fairly straightforward to operate, however deciphering the how-to guide in between contractions is NOT what you want to be doing. Ensure both you and your birth support person have had a run through the basics before its GO TIME!

3. Keep the Electrodes.

The Electrodes are very adhesive and can be reapplied during your labour or after! The TENS machine can be used in the days following birth to assist with after birth pains as the uterus contracts down to size.
