Birth Preparation Acupuncture.

For Mama’s that want to feel Calm, aligned and confident. Because birth isn’t something to endure, it’s something you rise into.

Together we’ll prepare your body, steady your mind, and anchor your confidence, so when labour arrives, you feel safe, ready, and completely in your power.

The Support.

This work goes so much deeper than the needles. Preparing for birth can feel like a lot, Between appointments, advice and all the “to-do’s” it’s easy to feel a little stretched (pun intended) in the final weeks.

This is where preparation becomes transformation. Birth preparation acupuncture gives your body and mind dedicated time to prepare, so you can enter your birth experience feeling confident, aligned, and ready to meet your baby.

With over 20 years of experience, I bring a deeply integrative approach to every session, combining Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Optimal maternal positioning, Yoga, breathwork and evidence-based research. Together, we gently peel back the layers, uncover and release the fears, beliefs, and stories, both inherited or internalised, that may be standing between your epic birth.

The Benefits.

  • cervical readiness.

    Cervical Readiness

Acupuncture is used to support cervical ripening, which may help your body prepare for labour and reduce the likelihood of going far beyond your due date.

  • Shorter Labour.

Acupuncture may shorten the duration of labour and reduce the need for augmentation and intervention.

  • Woman in labour

    Reduce Pain.

Acupuncture may help reduce the perception of pain and support your body’s natural coping mechanisms during labour.

  • Hormonal Regulation.

Acupuncture is known to regulate the nervous system and may positively influence hormones like oxytocin and endorphins, helping you feel more grounded and calm.

The Timing

Ideally we commence from weekly from 36 weeks gestation. This cadence allows the cumulative benefits of Acupuncture to build as you approach your due date. However, if you are already beyond 36 weeks, it’s never too late to start preparing!

Medical Induction.

If you know you are having an induction prior to your estimated due date, it may be advantageous to commence earlier that 36 weeks, contact me to discuss further.

VBAC Preparation.

I recommend starting VBAC preparation from 35 weeks. When preparing for a vaginal birth after cesarean, it’s essential to honour and make space for the emotional and physical impact of previous birth experiences. I believe creating this additional space allows us to work together in addressing fears, building confidence, and fostering a positive mind and body for your next birth.

Your journey is unique, and nurturing both your body and mind throughout this process is key to feeling empowered and ready to embrace the transformative experience of birth.

The Impact.

“We have the births we need to have to teach us what we need to know about ourselves.”

— Jane Hardwicke Collings
